Navigating the Freelance Wilderness?
It's a tough world out there.
We want to help.
Whether you're considering a path in freelancing or have years of experience, the toughest part is figuring out what you don't know. It's all on you.
We're going to walk you through client management, business strategies, processes & tools, marketing, mental health -- and things you hadn't even considered.
Why Write A Book?
(It's a lot of work!)
We are both active speakers, podcast guests and WordPress community members. A single recurring theme emerged from all these conversations - freelancers are having a tough time getting the skills and information they need to be successful.
Most content targeted at freelancers is cheap and cheesy - "make six figures while sipping a mai tai at the beach". This helps no one except the person selling the magic formula. The good content that's available tends to take the form of blog posts - informative, but not deep or detailed.
After some brainstorming, we decided the best way to help the information gap was to write a survival guide - an authentic, "no bullsh*t", "here's what we've learned" book.
We've accumulated years of lessons, some the hard way, and want to share them with you.
What's in the book?
We brainstormed the critical success factors and common questions about freelancing and have an in-depth chapter on each of these topics:
Your Business Model
Day to Day Operations
Service Based Business Model
Product Based Business Model
Hiring & Management
Processes and Systems
Health & Wellness
This is the book we wish we'd had when we started.
Your guides have over 25 years of combined freelancing experience.
Ok, so we're not kids. We're not even really old. Let's go with mature.
As we outlined the book and started writing, a thought kept recurring - how can we offer more?
We'll say it again. Running a small business isn't easy, and useful tools help pave the path to success. We're still finalizing these packages, but here's a sneak peek:
